The specific abstract aspect of mathematics leads to complexities in comprehending. From this viewpoint, supporting the teaching process with concrete materials and providing a wealth of experience is fundamental. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of mathematics teaching supported by material on 6th grade students’ success and attitudes. The study is conducted at a middle school in a village of Elazığ in 2013-2014 educational years. The study group is made up of 60 students in this school. Quasi-experimental research model is used in the study. The findings from the study indicate that the success and attitude of the experimental group is influenced in a positive way by teaching the set theory with materials.
