Distance education system is based on the implementation of teaching and learning activities of teachers and students who are in different environments through communication technologies and postal services. Reasons like developing communication technologies, the increasingly individualized education, growth in information and population, diversity in educational needs lead widespread implementation of distance education. The purpose of this study is to determine perceptions of students enrolled at Develi Vocational School about Turkish Language courses conducted by distance education. With this qualitative study the phenomenological research design was used. The study group includes junior students enrolled at the departments of Computer Technology, Computer Programming, Office Management and Executive Assistant, Child Development and Logistics at Develi Vocational College in Erciyes University in 2014-2015 academic year. Maximum variation sampling method was used to select the participants. The research data were collected through an interview form consisting of open-ended questions prepared by researchers. The form included the questions about the efficiency of the Turkish Language course conducted by distance education, the positive and negative sides of distance education process, comparison of the quality of normal education and distance education courses and what can be done for more effective course. Computer-aided qualitative data analysis program was used to analyze the data. The data were evaluated by descriptive analysis. Study results revealed both positive and negative opinions about conducting Turkish Language course via distance education.
