Özet:

Hermeneutics is an area of philosophy which is used since ancient period and accepted as an art of interpretation. Hermeneutics with many different definitions, is considered as the art of understanding and interpreting. Hermeneutics whose foundations reaching up to ancient Egypt and Greece, initially perceived as in the form of interpretation and understanding of religious texts is nowadays used in the field of science and art of all kinds. W. Dilthey, who made the most serious work in this area and created the theoretical framework of the hermeneutics, methodizes usage of hermeneutics in social and positive sciences with concepts of understanding and explanation. He expresses that understanding refers to social sciences and explanations refers to the positive sciences. The main element in Turkish courses are texts and as it is considered that the language skills are given under understanding and telling headings, and for realization of full and complete understanding hermeneutics will be alone enough and the telling will be more effective with this capability. As a result, the effective use of hermeneutics among several methods and techniques, will maximize the students' comprehension and interpretation proficiency for the requirements of the programs' goals, objectives and scope in Turkish education.
