One of the sources that feed modern Turkish poets is classical Turkish poetry within this tradition, Şeyh Gâlib is one of the poets with the greatest influence on modern poets. Influence of Şeyh Gâlib also observable on modern Turkish poets like Cenâp Şahabettin, Abdülhâk Hâmid and particularly Fecr-i Âti is more apparent on Ahmet Hâşim's works. Images and fantasies employed by Hâşim and symbolism are indications of Şeyh Gâlib's effect on Hâşim's poets. Considering the poems that can be accepted as Şeyh Gâlib's poetics and Ahmet Hâşim's writing and poems with Gâlib in terms of his poetic views besides his images, imagination world and understanding of symbolism. In this study where poetic views of these two poets are compared as regards the similarities have been examined under the titles of symbolism, view of nature meaning and clearity, reader, source of poems and poets. These smilarities show that the closeness of approaches of two poets and also Ahmet Hâşim's images and dreams which are similar to Şeyh Gâlib have a meaning beyond a chance. Furthermore it strengthens the view that one of the sources of Hâşim's poetry is Şeyh Gâlib.
