Kafiye dışında kalan ek veya kelimelerden oluşan redif, şiirde ahengi sağlayan unsurlardan biridir. Divan şairleri, redifiyle anılan birçok kasidenin yanı sıra, aynı kelime etrafında oluşturulan çok sayıda gazel de yazmışlardır. Gazellerde redif olarak çok tercih edilen kelimelerden biri de “gül”dür. Bu çalışmada on dördüncü yüzyıldan yirminci yüzyıla kadar ulaşılan divanlardan ve çeşitli kaynaklardan derlenilen“gül” redifli gazellere ve konuyla ilgili olarak istatistikî bilgilere yer verilmiş ve 5 gül redifli gazelin nesre çevirisi eklenmiştir.
