This study compares the capital market structures of developed and developing countries. In recent years, the performance of developing countries are followed by all other countries closely. With its successful economic development Turkey became one of the followed countries. First, the countries in this study are classified as advanced countries, advanced emerging countries, secondary emerging countries. Then, for the years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010 macro variables such as population, GDP, total banking assets, total bank deposits, total bank credits and stock exchange value of those countries are obtained from various sources. Total values of these data, 5 year period growing rates, quantities per capita and 5 year period growing rates of those quantities are analyzed and differences among grouped countries are identified. Lastly, by using the economic data per capita, a Financial Development Indeks (FDI) is created and the countries are ordered according to their financial development.
