Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to assess the perceptions of life-satisfaction of high school teachers by determining their independent variables. Therefore, the general scan model was used in the research. The universe of the study consists of 3114 teachers who work in high schools located within the city borders of Gaziantep or Şahinbey. The sample of the study consists of 526 teachers selected by the layer sample method. The "Life Doyum Scale" was developed by Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin (1985) to determine the level of life satisfaction of teachers. When the data obtained in the study is analyzed, first visual statistical calculations are made. To determine whether teachers’ perceptions of life-satisfaction differ by gender variable, the T-test, the Service Duration, the class load, the school size and the learning level variable differ. When teachers’ perceptions regarding the expressions contained in the Life Doyum scale were assessed by independent variables, teachers’ perceptions did not show significant differences according to the variables of gender, class load and school size. According to the time of service variable, teachers’ perceptions have shown significant differences in the benefit of teachers with 21 years or more of service duration in the lifetime satisfaction scale.
