Abstract:

In this study, the content of postgraduate theses prepared in Turkey between 1978 – 2018 on accounting and finance field of department of healthcare management (or of other equivalent departments[1]) are evaluated on the basis of content analysis. By showing the different angles of views of the prepared theses on accounting and finance field of subjected departments, the main purpose of the study is to demonstrate the sufficient and insufficient works done on the accounting and finance fields. In the study, some key words were tested on “The Council of Higher Education” web site and the detected theses were examined. As a result, it was found that the proportion of the thesis prepared on accounting and finance fields of related departments are about 11% in total theses pool, showing in upward trend beginning from 2014. The breakdown of detected 179 theses prepared on accounting and finance fields of regarding departments is; 36,31% of Cost Accounting, 14,53% of Financing of Health Services, 12,85% of Financial Performance. As for the list of universities in which these theses prepared; 22,9% Beykent University (first rank), 19% Hacettepe Universiy, 14,5% Gazi University.
