Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to introduce the Maple Packet Program to the preservice teachers of Science and Elementary Mathematics Teaching Department and to measure the attitudes of the preservice teachers about the use of computer technology in this program and physics class and to make suggestions about the use of technology in the training of preservice teachers. The study was carried out with 171 preservice teachers in Mersin University Education Faculty, Science and Primary Mathematics Teaching Departments in the spring semesterof2014-2015 academic years. The data obtained show that most of the preservice teachers do not have enough knowledge about the Maple program that they can use or personally use but that the majority of the use of the Maple program in physics teaching and the use of technology in physics course are positive attitudes and these attitudes are different according to the department and classes they have studied
