Abstract:

Plenty of events which are lived by humankind from past to present, had been reflected on urban spaces and brought urban renewals with. Arising of urban renewal term are happened after World War II. Plenty of urban ruined regions which were burned, ruined and destroyed after war had been rebuilt. In this sense, space requirements of societies had been tried to provide for with urban renewal. In the context of renewal, various transformation methods are available for space requirements. Also, time-varying paradigms had been reflected to the urban spaces and affected cities. Large part of current issues which are the subject of urban renewal are about cities’ physical conditions. The first thing that comes to mind about urban renewal in Turkey is developing projects in the context of gaining slum areas as healthy buildings. But it is seen that all urban renewal projects do not give expected results to cities and citizen.
