This study aims to examine the evolution of the management thought systematically. Science mapping method was used. The analysis unit consists of 20,319 English articles during the period 1945-2017 in Web of Science (WoS). The data were transferred to the SciMAT, then divided into 3 terms and analyzed through word groups in order to see the network structures and dynamics of publications. Network and density graphs were obtained with VOSviewer software while strategic diagrams, cluster graph and evolution map were obtained using SciMAT. While America, England and Canada come first, Turkey has a very low scientific publication performance. During the years, strategic alliances, strategic management and empowerment-based scientific studies have more centrality and density. Value chain management, patient, technology and decision making are also rapidly developing. In general, it can be asserted that the trend of scientific publication is parallel with the evolution of the management thought.
