Precision to the upbringing of future generations is an indication of the importance of children's education. The raising and strengthening of the aesthetic (liking) level of the new generations under the leadership of wisdom and morality is the primary responsibility of education. On that sense children's picture books are a basic educational tool to contribute to the teaching-learning process. In this sense the quality of the messages in children's picture books has great importance. In this study, it was aimed to examine the stories of Christine Beigel's “Anne Tavuk Anlatıyor” series in terms of negative messages. The 10 books in the “Anne Tavuk Anlatıyor” series were evaluated based on the determinations of pre-school teachers and pre-school teacher trainees. In this work, which is structured qualitatively, the data is collected by means of a document review. Content analysis from qualitative analysis techniques is based on in the analysis of the data. According to the results obtained from the study, it was determined that the books examined had a message about a hedonist way of life that could corrupt the values and weaken human relations. Besides, participants stated that the books were not designed in a holistic fiction, they had a superficial beginning and accelerated ends; the books offered negative messages to child readers such as violence, threats, unlimited consumption and misreporting gender roles.
