Textile is one of the labor-intensive industries. In today's world, the production of textile products is mostly carried out in underdeveloped or developing countries. Textiles have an important place in the industry of Adıyaman, which is located in a less developed region of Turkey. In Adıyaman's textile sector there are more employed women than men. The purpose of this study is to analyze the working relationships of female textile workers in underdeveloped region. The subject of the study are female textile workers of small, medium and large scale factories in AdıyamanOrganized Industry Zone. For this purpose, in March and April of 2014, there was a survey conducted by face to face interviewing of 350 textile workers from 8 small, medium and large scale factories. Male textile workers were also included in the study to analyze the gender effects comparatively in working relationships. According to the findings of field research, female workers in the textile sector of underdeveloped region are in a disadvantageous position. The wages and working hours that female workers receive are extremely negative for small factories producing fake products. Moreover, in these factories benefiting from the state subsidy, the rate of textile workers working for a wage below the minimum wage is 27.2%. The rate of female workers working for a minimum wage is 72.8%.
