The aim of this study is to examine the 9th Grade Turkish Language and Literature Coursebook, which has been taught to the students since the 2017-2018 instruction year and which was prepared by Ministry of Education according to the 2017 Secondary School Turkish Language and Literature Lesson Education Program. In the curriculum, communication in the mother tongue, communication in the foreign languages, mathematics competence, science and technology proficiency, digital competence, learning to learn, social competences, initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness and expression competencies are included under the heading of "Proficiency and Skills". The program also includes information literacy, critical thinking, visual literacy, communication and business associations, media literacy, creative thinking competence and skills under the heading "Field Specific Skills”. Document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study and content analysis was used in analyzing the research data. In the study, according to the classification of the learning areas in the curriculum, the competencies and the frequency of use of the skills were determined according to the themes of reading, writing, oral communication and grammar. Findings of the work were presented in tables and interpreted and suggestions were made in the direction of the achieved results.
