The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable achievement test to determine the teacher candidates’ knowledge levels towards environmental problems and to reveal knowledge levels of science teacher candidates towards environmental problems. Survey method was used in this study.Achievement test development phase of the study, total 203 teacher candidates who were in the fourth class in Science Education Department of Gazi Education Faculty in 2009-2010 spring semester were selected as working group. The other working group of the study was conducted to total 93 teacher candidates who were in the third class, in Science Education Department of Gazi Education Faculty in the same year. 55-items Environmental Problems Achievement Test which was provided validity and reliability was developed as a result of the study. Then, prepared test was applied the science teacher candidates. Finally, teacher candidates’ knowledge levels toward the environmental problems were found to be relatively poor given the highest possible score that can be tested
