The purpose of this study is to examine the violence towards high school teachers and the whether the likelihood of experiencing violence vary according to their demographics (sex, education level and occupational seniority) and the features of the high schools they are employed (type, type, place and size). In this study, a survey model was used to describe the existing situation as it is. The population of the study is consisted of 883 high school teachers working at 25 state high school in central district of Niğde in the academic year of 2015-2016. Since the population is believed to be reached, no sample was taken and the entire population was tried to be reached. The data for this study were collected by a questionnaire which was developed by the researcher on the basis of a part of a questionnaire used in the study conducted in the USA by McMahon et.al (2014). The findings of the study were first examined descriptively and it was found that 20.9% of the participants experienced violence at least once and a total of 236 violence incidents were experienced. One-sample Chi-square test was run to determine whether the likelihood of experiencing violence varied according to the teachers’ demographics or the features of the schools they are employed. It was found that the likelihood of experiencing violence did not differ statistically according to their demographics (gender, education level, occupational seniority). However, it was found that the likelihood of facing violence differ according to the type and the size of the school.
