Abstract:

The Ottoman State designed "Logistic Service Organization" within the Ottoman Army for the labors such as carrying guns and ammunition, cleaning the roads for the army passage, shipping of cereals, repairing of fortresses, giving services in dockyards and building of bridges. The members of this organization were placed in the military service in return exemption form the certain taxes. The Ottomans eased the tasks for the army in Rumelia by using these new logistic organizations such as "The Walk", "Tatar", "Musellem", "Voynuk". These organizations were studied by several scholars. Gypsy Müsellems were also studied as a PhD thesis by myself. On the other hand, müsellems such as Greek, Greek and Greek are not known very well and no detailed studies exist. In this paper, musellems of Visa will be studied in the hope of contributing the history of military institutions
