Abstract:

Although, SMEs have countless advantages in economic and social life, they face important competition problems. The main point of these problems derives from financial aspects. In order to solve finance-based difficulties of SMEs, to help them survive in the intense competition environment and, provide them with a healthy and sustainable growth strategy, banks, as leading players of the financial industry, carry an important portion of responsibilities. At this respect, banks in Turkey have recently initiated to provide such services called SME banking. In this study, in addition to bank and SME relations, SME banking in Turkey has been examined
