The aim of this work is to determine the attitudes of Department of Social Sciences Teaching students' towards the history and geography courses and also to obtain the students' opinions about related courses. The study was carried out with the 101 students of Department of Social Sciences Teaching studying in Faculty of Education in Adıyaman University. Quantitative and qualitative data in relation of history and geograpy courses taken from the students were evaluated. In addition, frequency, percantage and arithmetic means of them were figured out and the results of questionnaires were also evaluated. The results of the study showed that students were eager to learn the subjects of history and geography, but the results also indicated that the methods and techniques used by the teachers were critically essential to maintain the eagerness and interest of the students. Furthermore, It was revealed that students were much more eager to take geography courses in comparision to take history courses. In other words, students’ attitudes towards History and Geography are quite positive
