Abstract:

Lâle Müldür has a unique place in post-1980 Turkish poetry. Her poetry book entitled “Divanü Lûgat-İt-Türk” is a book of poetry where we often come across traditional elements, a quality which is not common. In Müldür’s poetry book, the lives of the old Turks and their understanding of the world have found their place in an atmosphere specific to poetry. The book of “Divanü Lûgat-İt-Türk,” the author of which is Kaşgarlı Mahmut and which is considered to be a cultural and literary treasure of Turkish people, has been chosen as the title of Müldür’s poetry book, due to the fact that it is a work which gives indications on the type of relationship Müldür wishes to have with tradition. In this paper, the concepts of “tradition” and “literary tradition” are briefly examined and the traces of tradition in Müldür’s work is analyzed in subsections
