The unemployment rate in Turkey remains high in spite of the high growth rates that Turkish economy performed since 2002. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the causal relation between economic growth and employment by using a wavelet approach in order to bring a scientific explanation to jobless growth discussion. Besides providing the causal relation between the time series at their original level, wavelet approach also make it possible to decompose the employment and growth series at various frequency bands using wavelet methodology and revisit the causal relationships among the decomposed series on a scale by scale basis. The major findings of our study, which cover the period between 2005M1 and 2013M4, show that the unidirectional causality runs from economic growth to employment at the original level and there is evidence of bidirectional causality as the frequency decreases. However, our empirical results do not support any causal relation between these two variables in the long run
