Abstract:

In this study, the effects of the ownership structures of 23 companies that have been treated in BIST-XMESY in years 2009-2012, on their financial performances was aimed to be evaluated. With this purpose, return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and Tobin’s-Q ratios as dependent variables, the proportions of the major (OY1), two major (OY2) and three major (OY3) partner’s share, foreign ownership share (YP), free float rate (HAO) as independent variables and natural of logarithm of sales (Ln(s)) and leverage ratio (K) as control variables were associated. In data analysis, panel regression model that combines both time and cross-sectional dimension was used. As the result of the analysis, it was determined that the variables of the ownership structures of the companies affect their financial performances in general
