The aim of this study is to examine the changes in the prophetic biography books which begun with the announcement of Tanzimat Reforms and accelerated onward. Prophetic biography used to consist messages as a reference point for reforms but later changed its course with the effects of orientalists’ efforts.Hereby, a critical approach have emerged and needs of returning to primary sources became obvious. Modern, scientific and realist approaches - which sharpened after the founding of the republic – gained new speed with the translated books after 1960s. The study of prophetic biography returned back to its legendary and mythical feature with the holy birth week celebrations of prophet Mohammed
