Özet:

Universities provide significant contributions to the developmental levels of the economies of the regions where they are located. Better understandings of these contributions are possible by analyzing the consumption expenditures of university students and the effects on the regional firms. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to the students who were thought in Eskişehir Osmangazi University Sivrihisar Vocational School and the effects of the students on the Sivrihisar trade were investigated. The effects and contributions of the Vocational School on Sivrihisar trade are analyzed using Chi-Square independence test. It has been found that the students contributed to the district’s economy 395,67 TL per month and 2,143 million TL per year in total. In addition, it is concluded that the dissatisfaction levels of the students in relation to the people of the district and the tradesman are high; the reasons for this result and the necessary solutions are presented.
