Abstract:

Smart specialization; ensure support to entrepreneurs and firms for their economic and technological activities and presents new forecasts and priorities by strengthening the existing technological and industrial specialization models. It is interested in selecting  new economic activities which have high potential for growth  and directing the resources to more productive areas in the region.  Within the framework of the smart specialization strategy, inter-cluster collaborations can be identified that will provide competitive advantage to new areas. This study aims to evaluate the smart specialization strategy and reveal its goals in development process, which is a new site within the regional innovation approaches. In this study, definitions and  policies for regional development strategies are emphasized and the basic elements of smart specialization strategy are detailed.
