In this study, under the unpredictable environmental conditions, the importance of the interaction of environmental organizations has been emphasized within the framework of organizational ecology theory. Effects of environmental elements on organizations which are also important in achieving sustainable competitive advantage andgoals are examined. In this study, it is aimed to give information about some researches, theories and approaches related to organizational ecology theory and to define the elements affecting the organizational structure. Organizations as an open system, the elements affecting to the structure of the organizations and also researches about this topics have been demonstrated. Also in this study, it is aimed to give information about the researches, theories, and approaches that have been made in this topic and describing the elements affecting organization structure within the framework of organizational ecology theory. Researches on this issue have been revealed and the obtained results are complied. Within the framework of organizational ecology approach; environment, communities, age and size were examined. It is emphasized that the size and age of organizations are effective as a condition addictive element. The links between age and structure of the organization in the context of organizational ecology theory, dealt with the concept of innovation and adaptation and the effects have been demonstrated. The concepts of evolution, selection and separation are also applicable in the world of organizations. How organizations can sustain their existence in the environment they are in and survival and establishment rates of organizations have been correlated. In the conclusion of the study, within the framework of organizational ecology approach, the factors such as adaptation, elimination age and size had an effect on organizational communities and organizations.
