Abstract:

Necip Fazil which is one of the preeminent figures of Turkish literature has wrote works in many literary genres, especially poetry, theater and story. He has grasped people with its weaknesses, fears, desires, etc. Necip Fazil reflected the people in his works successfully with these qualities. In this study, the focus is on the theme of death which holds a very important place in all of his story that was collected under the name of Hikâyelerim. In all of the stories that death takes place in, how the death proceeds, the which mission death has in the technic of story setting and what messages were given by that theme were evaluated. In addition to this assessment, traces of great changes experienced by Necip Fazil have been identified in the stories. After all, "death" which was the main source of fear for him once,  ceases to be a source of torment after meeting with the divine mind. In fact, the opposite situation develops. Necip Fazil reaches to a point where he could say "welcome" to the angel of death.
