Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to reveal the relationship of scientific studies (Article/Graduate Thesis) conducted using active learning techniques in Turkey in the years 2000-2014 with the views of students on academic success, attitudes and practices. The study used the method of "Meta-Analysis". Based on the problem questions, the research was achieved to the following findings: 29 of 203 studies on academic success are the doctoral thesis, 80 of the master thesis 94 are the studies of the type of article. Active learning practices have a 95,55% positive outcome on academic success. The research found that 28 different active learning techniques were used. The first 10 techniques with a high application frequency are: Strength (f=40), Creative Writing (f=15); Micro Teaching Technique (f=13); Six Hat Technique (f=12); Mind Map (f=11); Cartoon(f=10); Educational Game(f=10); Station(f=10); Concept Map(f=9); Example Event (f=8). 13 of the 75 studies in which the influence of active learning practices on the class attitude was studied consisted of doctoral thesis, 36 of the master's thesis and 26 of the studies of the type of article. The study found that active learning gave 96.68% of successful results in the development of positive attitudes. Students’ opinions on the courses where active learning is applied were studied, 8 of the 69 studies, 29 of the doctoral thesis, 29 of the master's thesis, 32 of the study of the type of article. In 90.06% of the studies, the study found that students expressed positive views on active learning practices.
