Adana Arkeoloji Müzesinde Sergilenen Bir Grup Bakır Bizans Sikkesi

Abstract:

Adana Arkeoloji Müzesi envanterine kayıtlı yirmi yedi bin dokuz yüz atmış beş adet sikke bulunmaktadır. Antik ve İslami dönemlere ait bu sikkelerden çok az bir kısmı sergilenmektedir. 2013 yılı içerisinde söz konusu müzede yapılan çalışmada, tamamı Adana merkez, Kadirli, Misis ve Elbistan gibi bölge yerleşimlerinden satın alma yoluyla elde edilen ve teşhir salonunda 4. vitrinde sergilenmekte olan, Bizans Dönemi’ne ait yirmi yedi adet bakır sikke incelenmiştir. Bu sikkelerin yirmi üç âdetinin follis, üç âdetinin yarım follis ve bir detinin de çeyrek (Deconummium) follis olduğu saptanmıştır. Follislerden üç âdeti I. Anastasius (491-518), bir âdeti I. Iustinus (518-527), beş adeti I. Iustinianus (527-565), altı adeti II. Iustinius (565-578), bir adeti Mauricus Tiberius (582-602), bir adeti Focas (602-610), bir adeti Heracleius (610-641), bir adeti VII. Constantinus (913-959), A2 grubundan iki adet, B grubundan üç adet, C grubundan üç adet olmak üzere sekiz adet de Anonim (970-1092) dönemlere tarihlenmektedir. Bu çalışmada katalogda yer alan bakır sikkeler hakkında detaylı bilgilere yer verilmiş ve değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.

A Group Of Byzantium Copper Coins Displayed In Adana Archaeological Museum

Abstract:

There are twenty-seven thousand nine hundred and sixty five registered coins in Adana Archaeological Museum inventory. Only a small part of these coins which belong to Antique and Islamic periods are displayed. Twenty seven copper Byzantine coins which were bought from Central Adana, Kadirli, Misis and Elbistan settlements and which are displayed at the fourth display window of the museum have been studied in 2013. Of these coins, twenty three were folles, three semi-folles, and one decanummium folles. three of these folles were dated as I. Anastasius ( 491-518), one of them I. Justinus ( 518-527), five of them I. Iustinianus (527-565), six of themII. Iustinus (565-578), one of them Mauricus Tiberius (582-602), one of Focas (602-610), one of Herakleios (610-641), one of VII. Konstantinos (913-959), two of them were A2 group, three of them Group B, three of them Group C, and eight of them were dated as anonymous(970-959). Detailed information is given on these bronze coins in the catalogue and they were evaluated in the present study.
