Abstract:

Discussions on multiculturalism and multiculturalism are focused on policies aimed at protecting localities and protecting differences by the state. It is not possible to make a comprehensive cultural definition of the concept of culture having a very broad set of meanings. In this context, the sub-cultural groups, through their differences, have brought their efforts to create a living space in multi-cultural societies to the discourse of multi-culturality in recent periods when they began to be seen as diversity. The concept of ethnicity within the mainstream society for sub-cultural groups has a separate importance. The concept of ethnicity has always indicated differentiation from the first moment when it began to be used. Today, the concept of ethnicity is used to emphasize ethnic differences. As a result of the processes of intercontinental migration and mobilization, individuals in multicultural societies have increasingly sought a source to bring their identities, affiliations and cultures to new meanings. In particular, the appearance of thyroid identities (hybrid identities) is the result of this process. In the framework of the study, the immigration process of Ahıska Turks, which is being examined as an affiliation and identity perceptions, has ended in Turkey, which is home to their own words after Uzbekistan, Russia, Ukraine. The social processes they have experienced in this immigration process have always been decisive on the perceptions of identity and affiliation.
