Abstract:

H. G. Gadamer’s ontological priority to hermeneutics is an important starting point for a social science methodology that can enable an indicative culture and analysis of socialization. The conceptualizations of the "make-up", the "conception" and the "tradition" come to us as complementary conceptualizations that confirm the possibility of the ontological priority recognized by hermeneutics to the extension to the methodological field. The dissertations of Gadamer provide important conceptual tools in an adaptative nature to overcome significant dicotomic differences in social sciences (micro-macro, individual-building, practice, etc.). In this regard, Gadamer will enable it to overcome the levels of reality dicotomically positioned in social sciences and the forms of social corporation with a "relational" strategy, providing a "open-off" possibility for the theory of a "humanistic truth" based on hermeneutics. This kind of existencial hermeneutic perspective, "individual-society", "freedom-definance", "understanding-explanation", "forward power-forward meaning structures", "subjective reality-subjective reality" and "subjective culture-subjective culture", exceeds its dicotoms; it invites its bilateral values and multi-sensitivities to social theory; as well as the patterns containing regularity, it takes into consideration the unregulated patterns, and it gives courage to a possibility and methodology of social theorization that encompasses them. Especially from a social-constructivist perspective, for the "social construction thesis of reality", Gadamer is in a key position between simple methodological discussions and nihilistic position acquisitions.
