The institutions of religious education in Turkey aims to train competent officials and clergy based on the a revolutionary law aimed at unification, standardization, and secularization of the educational institutions. Then, the authority on religious services and officials was given to the Presidency of Religious Affairs established in 1924. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the process that the clergy, "Imam and Preacher" and "Pulpit trustee", is trained and employed in the period starting from the year of 1924, when the Presidency of Religious Affairs was founded to of 2014, which is the period being influenced by the political debates and conflicts. This review study follows the method of document analysis. It is found in the study that the clergy appointment to the mosques carried out after 1924 according to the Law of Village. From 1931 to 1950, mosques and their officials were under the authority of the Diroctorate General of Foundations. In this period, all the prays such as "Azan", "Kamet" and "Takbir” in mosques were compulsory in Turkish, otherwise officers were sanctioned. Especially, 1930s and 40s were the years of oppression on the issues of religious life and education. On the other hand, later years were the ones that religion revived, in which the number of musques increased and became 120.000 in 2014, once in 1924 were around 4.500.
