The objectives and acquisitions of Turkish lessons are generally achieved through the texts in the textbooks. Students are expected to develop basic language skills and obtain national and cultural concepts by the help of the texts selected accordance with the thematic education in Turkish textbooks. The aim of this study is to assess which thematic words are used in textbooks prepared by different publishing houses to express "national culture theme" which is a compulsory theme of 7th grade Turkish textbooks and whether they are sufficient to reflect our national culture. For this purpose, the texts of "national culture" themes in Turkish textbooks belonging to three different publishing houses were reviewed. The data was evaluated according to the content analysis technique
