The demand for organic food has been growing constantly in recent years. The most basic cause of this situation is individuals’ desire to protect both their health and environment as a result of their raising self-awareness. As it is around the world, in Turkey there is a raising demand towards organic food and domestic market has started to improve gradually. Development of the domestic market is only possible with recognition of customers and understanding their behaviors. Topics like who the organic food consumers are and which factors lead them to purchase organic food emerge as important issues that should be focused on. In this study, factors that generally influence organic food purchase decision of the consumers are detected in the light of local and foreign studies in literature and these factors are tried to be interpreted via synthesis.
