Established on May 1, 1964, TRT performed quite slow development in terms of technological and physical phases in the first decade of its beginning. Similar to the technological changes taking place in the realm of broadcasting discipline that caused new spatial needs in the world, TRT institution was needed to be operated from a headquarter while it was providing services in sporadic/temporary rented flats/buildings until mid-1970s. For that reason the idea of setting up a campus was raised and “TRT Ankara Campus Design Competition” was launched in 1982. Those spatial needs were identified by consulting relevant departments in TRT and described in the conditions of competition. In case of inadequacies in the list of specifications; comments, questions and predictions of contestants were asked and final architectural program was distributed to invited architects. The competition finished on June 23, 1982 and the winner was Y.E.G. Architectural Office among the seven contestants, and the project was completed after 17 years of construction. Since then TRT Site has been modified/renovated several times according to the changing needs of institution. There are several modifications/ renovations are required due to the urgent necessities of today. In this context, this paper examines modifications/transformations starting from the competition winner architectural project of TRT Oran Campus till today and discusses the predictions about probable spatial needs of the current campus in the near future.
