So many results that aren't mine?

The effective use of information technologies in the process of teaching, which have improved rapidly nowadays, is very important for making the education activities more efficient. Information Technologies are the most important helpers of teachers in guiding the learning of students in our education system from 2005 which is basically taken of the constructivist approach. This study was done to identify the attitudes of preservice teachers toward technology and to identify how competent they find themselves in information technologies with regard to different variables. Technology Perception Scale (TPS) and Perceived Computer Competency Scale (PCCS) developed by TINMAZ (2004) were used in the study. There were four independent variables (gender, class level, possessing a computer, possessing internet) and two dependent variable (perceived computer competency level and technology perception) in this study. The study was applied to 360 students studying at the morning and evening classes of Classroom Teaching in Mersin University. As the result of the study, it was revealed that preservice teachers find themselves in a moderate level in terms of computer competency. It was also observed that preservice teachers’ perception of technology use in teaching was in an adequate level. As for most of the preservice teachers, the ones whose computer competency average was high had also high average of technology perception.
