One of the problems on transmitting texts among Turkic languages and interpreting them is known as false equivalence. Some words which seem similar as pronunciation and form may have a different meaning among those languages. Ones who transmit the text might be wronged and they may exactly transmit meanings of words as they are used in their own language by interpreting its meaning as the same. When this mistake occurs, the text may be misunderstood and misinterpreted. Another problem on transmitting texts among Turkic languages is transmitting of idioms from source language to target language. False equivalence is the case that the same pronounced, formed and rooted words differ conceptually. False equivalence of idioms occurs when these idioms which are similar as pronunciation and form differ conceptually. Since two or more words gain different meanings than their original ones by clustering, those word groups should be studied as a whole in false equivalence researches. False equivalence among Turkic languages is not only occurs in the word root but also occurs as word groups. It seems that some idioms which are formed similarly in Turkish and Turkmen have different meanings. In this study, in order not to be transmitted wrongly of those idioms, some idioms were compared and contrasted in Turkmen and Turkish which belong to Oghuz (West) part of Turkic languages. Idioms and some word groups which can be false equivalent in both of these languages were determined and presented for attention of researches and readers. Aim of this research is to minimize mistakes which occur on transmitting and to contribute activities of text transmitting and interpreting between Turkish and Turkmen.
