The madrasas and Enderun Schools were institutions in the Ottoman Empire where the Ottomanism ideology and mentality was created for many years. These educational institutions played an important role in the creation of a politics and government tradition which are non-conflicting with the desires and goals of the system. The societal status of each social group in the Ottoman Empire was determined by the sultan and an educational system that is not conflicting the desires and goals of the system was established. The recreation of the each social class in the society was ensured in this way. Madrasas, with their education that they provided to the scholar class, played a dominant role in the exertion of the cental government control in the provinces. The madrasa institution ensured that the religious officials and members of the judiciary were included in the governing group. The military and civilian bureaucratic sector of the governing class was educated by the Enderun School which was based on a special education system. Administrators such as seraskiers, kadi-ul askers, flag officers, governors, chief admiral, ambassadors, grand viziers prepared themselves for the administration of the state through the multidimensional and disciplined education provided by the Enderûn-ı Hümâyûn. This study is dissecting the similarities and differences of the Enderun School and the madrasas. As a result of the comparative analysis, the mission undertaken by these institutions regarding the creation of the politics and government tradition of the Ottoman Empire will be proving a multi-dimensional way of thinking.
