The purpose of this research is to deeply investigate the experiences of being a twin mother. Phenomenological design was used as a qualitative research method. Having twin children causes many difficulties since pregnancy period. First, twin pregnancy is more difficult and risky than singleton pregnancy. Also, bringing babies to the world is more difficult than bringing a single baby to the world. After twin babies come to the world, twins’ mothers have more responsibility, fatigue and parental stress than singletons’ mothers. For this reason, it is thought that twin mother's experiences are different than single mothers. 12 interview questions and personal information form which were prepared in the light of literature were applied to 211 twin mothers reached by the criterion sampling method. In the analysis of the data, categorical analysis and emotional direction analysis were used in content analysis techniques. As a result, eight themes were emerged: feeling special, thinking of being rewarded, opposite feelings, missing life, psychological support, feeling obliged to others, motherhood role and feeling incomfortable about special questions. The research also provided psychological support suggestions for twin mothers.
