Throughout history, wood for handicraft production has become the main raw material for many products with both functional and decorative purposes. Architectural elements such as mihrab, door, cabinet doors, window beams, column headings and ceilings and usage items such as coffee table, console, writing set, drawer, crate, spoon, throne, rahle produced by wooden workmanship have intensive labor and mastery. Nowadays, in some regions of Anatolia, wooden handicrafts are continued and are brought those who deal with these handicrafts a profit. One of these wooden handicrafts is the art of spoon. The production of the wooden spoon which was widely continued in Konya in the past, especially in the Seljuk period continues in many provinces to use as kitchen article, decorative object or objects of folk dances today. Wooden spoons produced for decoration is offered for sale by painting and making with various ornaments. Wooden spoons has an important place in Turkish cuisine culture and The earliest samples of spoons which were produced the most beautiful examples during the Seljuk and Ottoman Periods are exhibited in the museums today. In this study, ten wooden spoons with ornaments found in the Ethnography Department of Antalya Museum were examined and the artifacts were explained according to their period and decoration characteristics. It was found that the artifacts remained from the Ottoman period and were used predominantly the floral motifs and geometric shapes in the ornaments. Furthermore, it was determined that symbolic motifs such as writing and Mevlana Tomb, moon, minarets and flag were used in the ornaments of wooden spoon
