ABSTRACT According to the Planned Behavior Theory, attitude, perceived behavioral control, norm and purpose are influential in the emergence of a behavior. Accordingly, individuals do prior assessment of the situation and take decisions about the implications of their actions. Behaviors occur as a result of a specific purpose (Şahin et al., 2016: 451). But the attitude also influences the intention. In this respect, the attitudes of companies towards attending fairs, control sense, norms and purposes can affect the decision to participate. Having more information about the psychological and social causes underlying the preferences of companies to participate in fairs will provide important contributions to more effective and accurate determination of the strategies companies are implementing in this area (Turan, 2011: 128). In this study, the effect of the attitude towards the behavior, the norms and the perceived behavior control on the cecisions of companies to participate to fairs in the framework of the theory of planned behavior was investigated. Quantitative method was preferred in the research and descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed using SPSS program.
