FROM SELJUK TO REPUBLİC MADRASSAS (Refraction Point Madrassas in Ottoman Modern Period) Mustafa ÇOBAN Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University/Asist.Prof./ [email protected] Frequently mentioned by during the history of Seljuk and Ottoman education, even today, sometimes the focus of discussions, in our educational history, madrassas, whose successes are sometimes referred to and sometimes referred to as failures, although it was originally founded in 1040 in the time of Tuğrul Bey in Nişabur the madrassa date as an institutional structure is usually in 1060 initiated by Nizamiye Madrassa founded by Sultan Alpaslan in Baghdad. Madrassas are institutions established solely for the purpose of education. Why the madrassas were established or why argued over the issues that the media need to know It is considered to be one of the opening reasons of the madrassas to defend Sunni beliefs against Shiism and Batinizsm, the masques that were used as educational space until that day due to the crowd coming to the lesson and the discomfort felt by those who worship, the state grows, difficulties in meeting the needs of statesmen and officers. The madrassas, which are located in the center of Muslim life and built around the mosques which are the important documents of the Islamic civilization, İmportant contributions have been made to the education life for both the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, have always been at the forefront of training qualified staff needed. The madrassas, which are directly influenced by the changes of time and the confusion or the educational attitudes of the administrators,have sometimes been popular, sometimes they have been removed from view, sometimes they have been removed from their eyes and have been blinded by their insufficiency. There have been many studies on the education in the madrassas although it is often emphasized that it is an educational institution that responds to the needs of the times in these reasons these educational institutions moved to the closing process to take place on the pages of history especially after the Western enlightenment itself in accordance with the condition can not renew, giving practice to students who are abused about teaching staff and the new schools opened in the Ottoman modern era which started with the Tanzimat on the last interpretation and the removal of the madrasas from the eye. As it is understood from the beginning, this study will examine the medreses from a historical perspective, avoiding the anachronistic understanding, as a result of an examination of the relevant literature, especially the interruptions and fall backs that Ottoman modernization will face. Madrassas is the first and most affected educational institution of Ottoman modernization. Although there is no single article on education in the Tanzimat edict madrassas became an educational institution that became obsolete and ignored by the advocates of modernization. The process of egotification of the madrasas was not sudden, as in some applications, the madrassas’ practices have been spreading for a long time, taking into consideration the pressure of the ulemas and their place in society. In the recent past, the madrassas has also been devalued with deliberate efforts,by ignoring the contributions to our science history, a social, political, religious and scientific life that started with the Republic was transferred to our generation and tried to cover up the truth.
