Özet:

The Soviet poet Olga Fyodorovna Berggolts became famous mostly for her works at the city radio in World War II during the blockade of Leningrad. Refusing pertinaciously to be evacuated from the city, Berggolts spent the entire 872 blockade day in Leningrad. On her radio program from her microphone she reads her own poems, delivers news about bombardment in the city and encourages the hungry and depressed Leningraders through her speeches and poems. Berggolts’s poems supporting national unity purpose to keep hope and faith of the Leningraders alive. Her poems are the mirror of all the grim truths of the blockade. Moreover, extraordinary patience, resistance and determination showed by Soviet woman in the period of war are described in Berggolts’s poems. The aim of this study is to define the characteristics of Olga Berggolts’s poetry written in the period of the blockade of Leningrad from 1941 to 1945.
