Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyze some problems that are encountered in the course of Atatürk’s principles and history of Turkish revolution and some solutions dealing with it. According to the Article 4 and 5of the Higher Education Law (No.2547) that was entered into force on 6 November 1981, this course made into compulsory subject for Higher Education Institutions. One of the main elements of this study is to analyze the transformation of the course of coups d’etats history that was taught by Mahbut Esat (Bozkurt) firstly in 1925 at Ankara Law School. The responsibility of Turkish revolutionary course was given to the institution of the Tırkish Revolutionary History that was depend on Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography that was established by Law 4204 which was entered into force on 15 April 1942. The name of this course was also changed as Revolution History and Turkish Republic Regime and it was made into compulsory lesson. After the 1960 coup d’etat, some changes were made in the context of this course. Also, its name was changed again as Turkish Revolution History with the decision of consultative committee of the institution of the Turkish Revoltion History that was gathered on 20 May 1968. On the other hand, the new law draft was made for the adoption of citizens and providing efficiency by the institution of Turkish Revolution History on 1 February 1971 dealing with the aim and gualifications of this course. After 1980 coup d’etat, the name of it was changed again as Atatürk’s principles and history of Turkish revolution. Also coursebook was written in the direction of committed changes. According to the Article 4 and 5of the Higher Education Law (No.2547) that was entered into force on 6 November 1981, this course made into compulsory subject for Higher Education Institutions. Also, this course was given two semetres again in 1990.
