Four directional average filter (FDAF) is a study presented earlier. It uses a 3x3 mask in the filtering. In this study, the effect of increasing the mask size on the productivity of FDAF is examined. When a 5x5 mask is used for FDAF, it is called FDAF5. In the experiments, a 5x5 image segment of Lena image is used. The noise intensity varies by 16%, 32%, 48%, 64%, 72%, 80% and 88%. Comparison filters; median filter (MF), median filter (MF5) filtering with 5x5 mask and FDAF. According to the comparison results, as the noise density increases, the use of 5x5 mask increases the productivity.
