The ever-present environmental problems are increasingly important of waste management processes in the developed and, in the developing countries. Managing wastes without harming the environment is closely related to the economy as well as environmental and human health. Management of this process with the developing environmental and economic conditions has become more difficult today. Because the type and amount of wastes is increasing. Along with the changing and varied consumption, there are visible increases in gas and liquid waste types, but the most common type of waste is solid waste. The waste management process floor covers the entire collection, transport, sorting, disposal and recovery processes of liquid and gaseous wastes. This process will function well in terms of management, waste reduction, removal, recovery, energy conversion, health of the environment and system operation. The waste management system provided in this way is the process; will contribute to the sustainability of the living and lifeless life with minimum danger by ensuring that the air, soil and water are protected from pollution. The waste characterization of Antakya city, the central district of Hatay, which is one of our border cities, is remarkable. Antakya city has different cuisines, cleanliness and waste cultures in terms of hosting people from different cultures. It is an attractive city feature because it brings together people with different consumption habits. Due to the problems related to the political processes of the neighboring countries, the city's asylum-seeking migrants are among the triggering factors in all these cases and cause the waste to be generated in the city. The evaluation and processing of wastes is generally examined by technical dimension, the social and cultural part is behind. In this context, the study aims to examine waste within the framework of urban management. The importance given to environment and waste management and the situation of recovery activities are linked to culture patterns. Providing the development of different perspectives will also benefit from the development of responsibility awareness towards the environment and waste management process. The assessments will be based on literature review, observation and interviews with municipal authorities.
