In today's competitive society, employees who are well-educated and able to speak more than one foreign language gain more and more importance. For this reason, English, which is a widely-spoken language, is taught as a foreign language all over the world. In this context, universities in Turkey have long been teaching English as a foreign language to improve the educational qualities of their students. However, these instructors need to have high job satisfaction in order to fulfill their organizational and social responsibilities. The aim of this research is to evaluate job satisfaction levels and the factors affecting job satisfaction of Instructors of English. The research is a qualitative study conducted by eight Instructors of English. Instructors have different ages, gender and seniority and work in different government and private universities. The interview technique was used as the data collection technique. At the end of the research, it is found out that general job satisfaction of Instructors of English is not high. The lack of academic promotion, the low social status, the high weekly work load and problematic relationship with the administrative staff and colleagues are shown as the reasons of low job satisfaction level of Instructors of English.
