ABSTRACT The knowledge sharing and innovation have been subject to many studies in the national and international literature. It has been shown based on the previous studies that knowledge sharing has implications for both employees and the companies. In this study, knowledge sharing has been the focus of the current research and its relation with the performance and innovative behaviour was investigated. A field study in a public universtiy was done to reveal perspectives of academics with respect to knowledge sharing, performance and innovative behaviour. Tha data was collected through survey and later on analysed with the help of SPSS program. As a result of the study, a positive relationship was found between dimensions of knowledge sharing (explicit and implicit knowledge sharing) and performance and innovative behaviour. In addition there was a positive relationship betweeen performance and innovative behaviour. The findings were discussed in relation to theory and practice. The recommendations were suggested based on the research findings.
