Planning in health systems is important for current and future generations. Good planning protects the health level of the community and ensures the correct use of health resources. Statistical studies on health are the building blocks of planning. There ara a lot of statistical methods used in the literature. Classification, clustering and estimation methods have long been used in the field of health and important for health planning. Artificial neural networks are also a commonly used method of estimation. In the method inspired by the human brain, there are applications such as classification and clustering besides estimation. Data mining is also often preferred in analysing data. In this study, an analysis is provided for healthcare system. Birth control and pregnancy planning is also an important issue in the field of healthcare. In the study, a dataset was used for this problem. This study is first combined with both the data mining and artificial neural network for a case study. Both of the methods are compared with each other. The results may guide the other health problems. The data are categorized by Weka data mining program and artificial neural networks. The results show that data mining gives better than artificial neural networks.
