As being the essence of aesthetic, tools shaping nature are accepted as "planning" and "design" which are "the most original artwork". Today, the rapid decline of the rural population relative to the urban population has led to a more disconnected human-nature relationship. The planning and design of the green spaces within the city has a positive effect in the repair of this disconnection and in the preservation and improvement of the physical and mental health of the individuals living in cities. The articles explaining the relationship between planning-designing green spaces and physical-mental health are searched through Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar indexes by using keywords "green space", "landscape", "nature", "environment", "health", "well-being" and "quality of life". The remaining 34 articles from 250 articles were classified and analyzed according to their content and results. Excluded articles are the ones that are not directly related to the subject. The results demonstrate that physical, visual or mental access to green spaces has positive effects on the physical and mental health of individuals, and results reveal the importance of planning and designing green spaces by considering their needs of individuals.
